A delegation from Borussia Dortmund took the opportunity of the UEFA Champions League away match against AFC Ajax to visit the Anne Frank Huis in Amsterdam.

“The story of Anne Frank and her family is known worldwide. Visiting the hiding place and the Anne Frank Huis here in Amsterdam today was very moving for all of us,” explained Hans-Joachim Watzke, Chairman of the BVB Management Board. “The cooperation with the Anne Frank House began back in 2015 and has steadily intensified over the years. Now to visit the Anne Frank House ourselves was a great concern for us and an experience that was both depressing and touching,” adds BVB Managing Director Carsten Cramer, who was on site, as was Daniel Lörcher (Head of Corporate Responsibility at BVB).

In the past, BVB and the Anne Frank Huis participated in the project “Changing the Chants” and developed guidelines for the work against anti-Semitism in football. Ronald Leopold, Managing Director Anne Frank Huis: “We are delighted to welcome BVB. We have worked together on important projects for a very long time and hopefully we will continue to do so in the future.”
