English football takes action against online abuse

After the multiple racist incidents on social media, football players such as Lauren James and Recee James publicly asked social networks to do more to tackle abusive messages on their platforms.

English clubs and the FA released statements condemning the racist abuses too.

Now, Premier League, The FA, EFL, women’s professional game, PFA, LMA, PGMOL and Kick It Out are sending an open letter to Facebook and Twitter to take action against online abuse.

Furthermore, Premier League announced the “No Room For Racism” Action Plan, which aims at creating greater access to opportunities and career progression for Black, Asian and other minority ethnic groups in football, and actions to eradicate racial prejudices.
